What does the word “trend” make you think of?

This week will we take you through a journey of trends…the good, the not-so-good and the ones that turned iconic. - your beauty bff’s

Q: What was one fashion trend you rocked back in the day, but wouldn’t dare to try now??

Chris: “Tight rolled Jordache jeans” with a tube top

Jess: Mini skirts and sheer long sleeve tops with a bando underneath

Q: What hair trend did you have to try??

Chris: The banana clip and big spiral permed hair that I rocked for a good 7 years

Jess: The “butterfly clips” if you had them you know what I am talking about! Oh and couldn’t live without my crimper!

Q: What makeup trend was all the rage growing up?

Chris: Maybelline black pencil liner heated with a lighter to get soft and blue eyeshadow (I had many shades to pick from, lol)

Jess: My first kit was of course a Caboodles…(which are BACK btw) It was stocked with everything “frost” from Wet N Wild!

Q: When you think of fashion and beauty trends growing up, who do you think of??

Chris: 80’s girl here! Madonna and Demi Moore were my idols with a little Duran Duran thrown in

Jess: I am a product of the ‘90’s… Britney, Christina & all things Pop Girl Groups

Q: Who do you think has done a great job of staying relevant through all the trends?

Chris: Julia Roberts has matured with style and grace. She rode the wave and is always true to her style

Jess: Jennifer Aniston for sure. She has managed to not only create iconic looks that were on trend then, but she also maintained her level of trend-setting

Chris: I could not get my bangs high enough or my makeup “glam” enough!

What I miss about the 80’s…Wishing that I was a part of the Brat Pack. I could relate so much to those movies and the characters. Sixteen Candles, St. Elmo’s Fire and The Breakfast Club will live on as some of the most nostalgic films for me and I will escape to the 80’s every time I watch them!

Jess: I grew up with Clueless on repeat and asking my stylist for “The Rachel.”

What I miss about the 90’s…I think that everyone just embraced style and who they were. We watched the trends and personalized them to our own selves. I remember watching Britney wear a school girl uniform in her first video and instantly, our school uniforms were “cool!” But after that video, we did roll them up a little shorter ;)
