A New Girl Code...

We all know what “girl code” is. But do you know what “hair code” means? Typically, someone may say; “I have coarse wavy hair,” not necessarily; my hair is a 3b and 3c. But once you know your hair code, shopping for product will be completely transformed. We are living in a virtual world, which can make things a bit more difficult. One thing I have my clients do at the beginning of our Virtual Hair Lessons together, is to take the hair code quiz! This will quickly tell me what type of hair they have and is a great launching off point. I will customize your lessons, product needs and ideal styles, based around this code. Pretty cool, huh?!

I love to challenge client’s to step out of their comfort zone and try something new with their hair. Products today, have made it easier than ever to try a look you’ve admired on others. My best advice is; try, try, try. Try new tools and products, get out of your daily rut, that you call “routine.” Life is too short, let’s at least have some fun with our hair!!

Hair Code

We all know “Girl Code”…But did your know your hair has a code? That code defines the shape of the hair strand. First step in knowing what products to try, is knowing your hair code!

I took the Hair Code Quiz and here are my results! I was pretty spot on with my initial guess on what my code would be. If you are curious or just like to take fun quizzes, give it a go and let’s see if your guess is right!!

(I guessed I would be a 2b/2c and results show I am a 2b)

Here are my results:::

Your hair personality is: Weekend Waves

Hair Type: Your hair is a unique medium texture with clearly defined and more tightly drawn waves. Those locks stick more closely to the head and don't poof or bounce up. Some frizziness up top is common, but luckily your waves are defined AND styleable.

Cuticle Health: The cuticle is the outer layer of a hair and under a microscope looks like many tiles wrapping the hair strand. Your cuticles are closed, meaning they lock out a lot of water, moisture, and product from your hair. Wash your hair with warm or hot water to open your cuticles to hydration and conditioning, then lock it all in by finishing with a rinse of cool water.

Fun Fact: I ALWAYS finish with a cold water rinse!! It wakes me up and seals my cuticle!!

So, now that we know our hair code, we can better understand which products to try and experiment with! Have fun!

xoxo, Jess
